When choosing a costume for your child, please keep in mind that we do not allow SCARY ones! Teachers will not let any bloody ghosts or skeletons to enter the school! During the parade each character will name his/her costume. After that students will anonymously vote for the best girl’s and boy’s costume. These two students will each receive a grand prize! Parents are free to join, but would need to wear a non-scary costume too! This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar. The Great California ShakeOut 10/15/2009
![]() On October 15, 2009 our school will participate in the Great California ShakeOut, the largest earthquake drill in U.S. History. At 10:15 a.m., your child will drop to the ground, take cover under a table or desk, and hold on, along with millions of Californians. This is the chance for us all to practice what to do so we are safe when it happens. As a participant in the ShakeOut, we will be holding a school-wide earthquake drill. Everyone will practice how to drop, cover and hold on, and teachers will discuss the importance of earthquake preparedness with our students. The City’s Outdoor Public Warning System Sirens will be activated as part of the statewide Drop, Cover and Hold earthquake drill on October 15, 2009 at 10:15 am. The sirens will be sounded, followed by a voice message indicating that it is a test. This is the first time the City is utilizing the system citywide at a time other than the regular Tuesday noon weekly test. Earthquake preparedness is a responsibility of all Californians and we encourage you to also discuss earthquake readiness with your child and others at home, to take steps to get prepared, and to participate in the ShakeOut. To date, more than 280,000 people in San Francisco have registered to participate in the drill, and more than 6.4 million have registered statewide. A primary focus of the Russkiy Mir Foundation is providing grants in support of the Russian language, Russian culture, and organizations representing the Russian world, including outside Russia. Read more about the foundation here: http://www.russkiymir.ru Our dream has finally come true and a great new beginning has started! Many thanks to the Russkiy Mir Foundation, our library will include 634 books! Most of them are appropriate for an elementary school reader. Starting November 2009, we begin a school-wide reading program in Russian! Soon your child will bring home a SCHOOL LIBRARY BOOK! Eleonora Nayberg | ArchivesFebruary 2012 CategoriesAll |
