What: Spring Talent Show 2010
When: Friday, May 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Where: Our School

We encourage all students to consider taking part in this show!

Everything counts: poetry reciting, singing, dancing, sport performance, instrument playing, magic, etc.! Do not forget colorful costumes!
Every individual act will be rewarded with cool prizes!
YOU parents can take part in this event too!
There are two ways to do this.

Be A Performer – You can perform an act with your own child (Sing together maybe? Or recite poetry together?)
Each act should last 1-2 minutes.

Be A Crew Member – We need helpers to decorate the hall before the show and clean up the space after the show.

Another exciting event took place last Thursday, March 25th.
Both Pre-K and Kindergarten participated in a quiz on Chukovsky's Books.
Tatyana Nikolaevna has been working on reviewing most famous Chukovsky’s books with the kids during her Russian classes.
Svetlana Holmes worked on the video presentation of the Quiz.
During the event kids were divided into 2 teams - Zaichiki and Kotyata. Each team answered 18 quiz questions and completed 6 exciting puzzles. Being one of the parents there, I was very proud to see our very smart kids. Thanks to Tatyana Nikolaevna for a great help with preparation for the quiz!

This year marks the very first Silent Auction of the Russian-American School. It has turned out our most important fundraising event of the year too!

I personally would like to extend our many thanks to the families who donated items and services to our Silent Auction.

We all had a great time together: delicious homemade food, exclusive wines, nice music, fantastic games organized by Tatyana Kerzhner, and of course, prizes, prizes, prizes! Yes, we did not only BUY items, we also had a chance to WIN stuff!
What other school can pronounce, that among other give-away prizes there were a 2-hour LIMOUSINE DRIVE or REAL PRECIOUS STONES!
Yes, you heard it right – Brazilian Rose Amethysts, Swiss Blue Topaz, Hessonite Garnet, and a 14K gold ring with Diamonds and Red Andesine – all of them were taken home as GIFTS by some of the participating parents.
This one-of –a kind generous donation was made by Virginia Gibson!
We really had a blast yesterday! Only Ochev Family alone had placed their bids on 19 items!

The event would not be possible without the tremendous amount of efforts and time spent by Julia Martinisi and Svetlana Holmes
They seem to have thought of every little detail of the auction – from the item presentation to decorating the room. Everyone at the event noticed and appreciated it very much.
Once again, we would like to thank all of our supporters for their most generous donations and participation in the auction!

Sincerely,

Eleonora Nayberg
Principal
