  • ADMISSIONS

Russian-American International School [RAIS] is unique in many ways, but particularly in the diversity of cultural backgrounds, talents, life experiences, ethnicity, and personalities of the students. Admission to Russian-American International School is selective and competitive. Our learning environment is bilingual, multicultural and international. Students from Russian and American public and private schools may be admitted to the Russian-American International School.

Our admission policies are non-discriminatory. We welcome students without regard to gender, race, religion, or national origin. The application process is critical to ensuring that RAIS continues to enroll students who will be well-served by the academic program and who will be happy and productive in the school environment.

In addition to the general academic qualifications, there are certain grade-level language requirements for entry into RAIS. The Russian Language is not a requirement for entry at kindergarten level [children of 5-6 years old] and the 1st grade [6-7 year olds]. All non-Russian speaking students will be proficient in Russian by the end of the 1st grade. Children whose mother tongue is Russian are admitted to the school at any grade level.

  • APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Following a preliminary visit to Russian-American International School, an appointment for a student evaluation will be scheduled. Notification of the evaluation result will be mailed within a week.

Once the applicant is accepted by the Russian-American International School, an application package will be sent to the family. All papers and supporting documents must be completed and returned along with a reservation deposit and fees as stated in the Tuition Contract.

An initial visit to Russian-American International School and a student evaluation appointment may be requested by phone or e-mail.
