- It is clear now that we’ve made a good choice by placing our
daughter at Russian-American International School. Adding a third
language - since she already spoke English and French at home - was
a risky proposition. In fact the gamble paid off because she was not
only able to speak Russian fluently after a few months, and learn
how to read and write in both English and Russian, but also
integrate well into a culture and traditions she did not know at
all. Our daughter is now at the French Lycee in London and continues
to practice Russian.

- Beginning in first grade, and with only speaking the Bulgarian
language, our daughter now speaks, writes and reads in Russian and
English fluently. Thanks to studying Russian on an everyday basis,
it has helped her with Bulgarian, our home language.

- Russian-American School has a very good teaching staff. Teachers
go above and beyond in order to make sure the students have learned
the material. This level of professionalism and motivation is very
rare nowadays. My child loves going to school every day. He is very
curious because the professional staff teaches him good values and
promotes the love of learning. My son also speaks, reads and writes
in two languages.

- My son really enjoys being a student at Russian-American
International School. He has learned a lot in the past few months.
I'm glad that we made the choice of putting him in this school.
Thanks!

- Very safe, friendly, and warm school environment.
My son always seems to want to go back to school (after a long
weekend or a break) and is very hesitant to leave the school, asking
to stay little longer, when the classes are over (this very fact
speaks a lot to me as a parent) Thank you! Yulia Itsikson,

- We are extremely pleased with the school. Not only has our
son’s intellect seemed to triple in the month of attendance but, his
behavior and attention span has dramatically improved.
So far, the results are fantastic. We are very happy. Thank you!

- As a non-Russian speaking family we have been pleased with the
teaching at Russian-American School. Our child's first language is
French and second language is English. Although as a family we do
not speak Russian, our child has acquired it fluently through
constant exposure to the language and a rich curriculum at RAIS,
from Kindergarten through third grade. The Russian teachers speak
almost exclusively Russian to the children at a very early age, thus
inculcating the language through immersion. The English teachers
speak only English to the children, which is important for Russian
speaking children. Although our child has been speaking, reading and
writing Russian for years now, it is still a thrill every time we
see her face light up and speak in Russian with ease. It has become
a wonderful tool, which we believe will aid our child in developing
critical thinking, social adaptability, increased interest in world
culture and the eventuality of acquiring other languages in the
future.

- I am writing to let you know how very much we have appreciated
the care and attention that you and your staff have shown to my twin
sons. They have attended the Russian-American International School
from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. They have also attended the
after-school programs, including chess, dance, French, art, and folk
crafts, as well as your summer program.
Throughout their and our entire experience we have been nothing but
impressed and pleased with the results of their education. My
sons not only speak, read, and write beautifully in both Russian and
English but they also show a love of learning and a love and respect
for their teachers and their classmates. I believe that both their teachers and the administration of the
school foster a wonderful environment for learning academic as well
as social and community skills. In particular I am very pleased with
their math and reading skills in both languages. Our family is moving to the East Coast this summer. If it were not
for this relocation, then I would certainly have my sons continue
their education at the Russian-American International School.
Victoria Somoff, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Russian Language and Literature Dartmouth College
- It is now already the second year that our son attends the
Russian-American International School. We all are really happy to
have found such a wonderful school where he feels happy to go to
class every day to see his friends and teachers and is learning a
lot. His English and Russian reading and writing have improved
greatly in the last few months. Our child learns many poems and his
memory as well as his vocabulary in Russian and English have
expanded.
By learning Russian and English in the Russian American
International School our son has also improved his German which he
speaks at home. The afternoon activities of chess and dance are his
favorite and a good addition to the lessons in the morning. Wishing the school best success with the future plans.
